Watch out Gixxer. BMW's finally made good on its threat to enter the superbike fray. The company will duke it out with Ducati and the boys with the Sportboxer, based on the new R1200S. The 140-hp air-cooled, twin-cylinder bike will debut in the 2007 QMMF FIM World Endurance Championship this weekend at the 24 Heures Moto at Le Mans. It'll go nose to tail with the Yamaha R1, Suzuki GSX-R1000 and Honda Fireblade. The production version will be unveiled this fall at the Paris Motorcycle show, ahead of a showroom release in 2008. No word on US price, but MCN says the UK model will go for 12,000. – Mike Spinelli
